Amber Igiede

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s volleyball senior Amber Igiede led the Rainbow Wahine to a pair of sweeps and earned her 10th career Big West weekly honor. This is Igieide’s seventh overall Big West Offensive Player of the Week award and third Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2023 season.

During the Rainbow Wahine’s victories at UC Davis and against UC Riverside, Igiede led UH with a combined 30 kills, 5.00 kill/set average, a .510 hitting percentage and five total blocks.

Igiede became the 16th Rainbow Wahine to amass 1,200 career kills. The middle blocker pounded a match-high 12 kills while hitting .455 with a block and a service ace. At UC Davis, Igiede recorded her seventh match with at least a kill, an assist, an ace, a dig and a block.

Against UC Riverside, Igiede put down a match high of 18 kills while hitting a match-best .556 with an additional four blocks. Igiede recorded double figure kills in 18 of 21 matches this year.

Currently, Igiede leads The Big West with 285 total kills and 4.64 points per set. Her .398 hitting percentage leads the conference, and is ranked No. 25 in the NCAA.
