The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s volleyball team was picked to finish No. 7 out of 11 schools in the PacWest Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Vulcans started strong and swept the Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks in their season opener on August 24 and won in four sets against the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves on August 25. However, they lost in a pair of five-set marathon matches against both Nanooks and Seawolves on August 26.
The Vulcans will play the American International College Yellow Jackets on September 1 at the Hawaiʻi Pacific University Shark Tank.
