Wide receiver Ashlock on field

Following his first collegiate football game, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa wide receiver Pofele Ashlock was named the Mountain West’s freshman of the week after his performance against Vanderbilt on August 26 in Nashville.

Ashlock caught seven passes for a team-high 127 yards and scored his first career touchdown with a three-yard reception in the fourth quarter. He hauled in three of his seven catches on that scoring drive, including a 35-yard reception.

Ashlock posted three catches of 20+ yards and averaged 18.1 yards per reception.

Ashlock and the Rainbow Warriors return to Honolulu for their home opener on September 1 against Stanford at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
