Women soccer team posing with award

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s soccer team was named a United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award winner on August 16. The award recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2022–23 academic year.

The Vulcans posted a 3.5 team GPA, landing at a nine-school tie at number 242 out of 497 women’s soccer programs across all three NCAA divisions.

Back in early May, the women’s soccer team was also awarded UH Hilo Ramon Goya Academic Team of the Year for highest GPA among the Vulcans team sports for the 2022–23 year.

A total of 808 soccer teams achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for 2022–23.

United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
