The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s volleyball team put in the work in the classroom to finish the 2022–23 school year with a combined 3.41 GPA, surpassing the 3.30 threshold to earn a U.S. Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA)Team Academic Award.
The USMC/AVCA announced on July 13 that 1,333 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned such distinctions, setting a new all-time record since the award was initiated 30 years ago in 1992–93.
The women’s volleyball team posted a 3.26 GPA in the fall and followed up strong with a 3.56 in the spring.
