The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa football team was picked 10th in the Mountain West preseason poll released on July 19.
In the first year of the new non-divisional format, the Rainbow Warriors received 102 votes to place 10th among the 12 teams. Boise State was the preseason favorite, receiving 28 of the 37 first-place votes and 433 total points.
The top two teams with the highest conference winning percentage will compete in the MW Football Championship Game on December 2.
In addition, preseason all-conference honors were announced, and UH cornerback Cam Stone was the Rainbow Warriors’ lone representative. Stone, a transfer from Wyoming, was an honorable mention all-MW pick last season for the Cowboys.
UH offensive lineman Eliki Tanuvasa, linebacker Logan Taylor and head coach Timmy Chang are representing the Rainbow Warriors at the two-day Mountain West Media Days, which is being held at Circa Resort and Casino.
