University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s golfers Hyeonji Kang and Mayumi Umezu received 2023 Big West All-Conference awards. Kang was selected to the conference first team and Umezu was selected to the second team.

Kang, a sophomore from Jeju, South Korea, led the Rainbow Wahine with a 73.8 scoring average. She competed in all nine tournaments with three top 10 finishes, including runner-up at the Cowgirl Classic, which was held April 3–4 in Maricopa, Arizona. Last season, Kang earned second-team all-conference honors.

Umezu, a sophomore from Waimea, Hawaiʻi, finished second on the team with a 74.3 average. Last week, she was named to the Big West all-tournament team after tying for fourth at the conference championship. Umezu also posted the season’s best single round (67) and 54-hole total (212) at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, held October 24–26, 2022.

UH concluded the 2022–23 season last week at the Big West Championship, where it finished in seventh place.
