University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s golfer Junsu Im and women’s tennis player McKenna Mountain earned KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week awards for April 5–18.
Im, a freshman, finished the year with strong performances, tying for No. 14 (+1) at the West Regional Spring Preview before claiming a share of the Pacific West Conference Championships individual title as co-champion with Andrew Otani (+1).
In the Vulcans’ final regular-season road trip to Colorado, Mountain went 3-0 in singles matches and 3-0 in doubles. She twice battled back from being down a set to take victories over Colorado Mesa University and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
The KTA Superstars award names one male and one female Vulcans student-athlete each week, highlighting their accomplishments from the prior week.
