The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s golf team was named PacWest Team of the Week after the Vulcans finished third at the NCAA West Region Spring Preview in Rohnert Park, California. Additionally, Keith Ng was named Golfer of the Week after finishing fourth with a 3-round score of -4.
UH Hilo had the best showing among all the PacWest teams present at the NCAA West Region Spring Preview, finishing third in the 21-team event. The Vulcans finished the two-day, three-round event at +2, only behind No. 26 California State University San Marcos (-11) and No. 19 Sonoma State University(-1).
Ng, a senior, put together his best rounds of the season, with rounds of 70-69-73 (212) to finish at -4—four shots behind the tournament leaders. He had 12 birdies during the tournament.
UH Hilo will compete next in the PacWest Championships, April 17⏻19 in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
