Lilian Turban, from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa track and field team, has been named the Big West Field Athlete of the Week. This is Turban’s second Big West honor.
Turban took first place in the high jump at the Stanford Invitational, March 31–April 1, clearing the bar at 1.82m (5’ 11.5”). Turban has won all three high jump events that she has competed in this season. Currently, she sits at the top of the Big West rankings in the event while placing No. 2 in a tie for the Division I West Qualifying list and is ranked No. 4 in the nation in a five-way tie.
Turban received her first Field Athlete of the Week honor in March 2022, gradually building her reputation as one of the best in the conference. Earlier this year, she won her first career championship, claiming the high jump event at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships.
