University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo baseball player Ryan Cho was named PacWest player of the week following his performance in the Vulcans’ three-game series against Hawaiʻi Pacific University (HPU), March 25–26 on Oʻahu at the Patsy T. Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park.
Cho, a senior first baseman, had 10 hits in 15 at-bats for UH Hilo as they won two out of their three games against HPU. He scored six times in the three games, hit two doubles, a home run and drove in seven. He went 5-for-6 in the March 26 contest, including the home run. He is hitting a career-best .418 with eight doubles and does not have an error in 137 chances at first base.
UH Hilo is currently No. 2 in the PacWest with a 8-5 conference record.
