Millie Fidge Big West Freshman of the Week

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa softball pitcher Millie Fidge was named Big West Freshman of the Week after earning her first collegiate win on February 25 in a game against Marist College.

Fidge fired a complete, seven inning game win—her longest outing of the season. She allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and a career-high seven strikeouts.

Overall, Fidge has a 3.50 ERA in six appearances and 20 innings pitched. She has struck out 20 batters while walking just eight. She is the second Rainbow Wahine to be named Big West Freshman of the Week, following Key-Annah Campbell-Pua, who earned last week’s Big West Pitcher and Freshman of the Week honors.

The Rainbow Wahine continue their month-long homestand with the Spring Fling Tournament, March 2–6. Competing in the six-team tournament are Niagara University, Pacific University, St. Bonaventure University, Santa Clara University, the University of Utah and host UH.
