Kids playing with bubbles
Kids can create bubbles big and small!

After two years of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Leeward Community College invites the community back to its Puʻuloa (Pearl City) Campus for the 32nd annual Discovery Fair on Saturday, November 5, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Admission, activities and parking are free.

The 2022 Discovery Fair features new cultural activities including Hawaiian Makahiki games, such as ʻulu maika (rolling stone disks), moa paheʻe (dart sliding) and kōnane (board game), and making your own 3D “Jeepney” (Filipino mini bus). Other new activities will allow keiki to learn about the world’s oceans and our amazing human senses, and try their hand at “balloon fishing!”

“The pandemic forced a shift to online activities during the past two years,” said Professor Jenny Watada, faculty co-chair of Discovery Fair. “We shared video activities, but it was nowhere near what we normally deliver with our in-person fair. We are so excited to welcome the families in our community back to the Discovery Fair!”
