University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s soccer player Koki Hamada was named Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for October 10–16.
Hamada, a freshman defender, provided a lot of the offense in the Vulcans’ 3-3 draw against Fresno Pacific University on October 15. After Fresno Pacific had built a 2-0 lead, Hamada scored the next two UH Hilo goals to draw even at 2-2. One score was on a penalty kick and the other on a shot just after the second half began.
This season, Hamada has four goals and eight points, placing him third on the UH Hilo squad.
