Vulcan athletes named KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week

University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s soccer player Koki Hamada and women’s cross country runner Aurea Streadbeck earned KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week titles on September 7.

The KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week award highlights one male and one female Vulcan Athletics student-athlete each Wednesday for their stand-out accomplishments and highlights from the week prior.

Hamada, a freshman defender, delivered the Vulcans’ game winner in a thrilling 2-1 season-opener win over Cal Poly Humboldt on September 4.

Streadbeck set a new 5K personal best at the Big Wave Invitational on September 3. Her 26:20.9 mark beat her previous time set a year ago by more than a minute.
