UPDATE: Former UH legend Timmy Chang named head coach

The University of Hawaiʻi responded to claims made by former UH football coach June Jones regarding the process of hiring the next UH football coach on January 22. UH Spokesman Dan Meisenzahl began with a statement and addressed questions from the media. View the press conference above.

The position was open following the resignation of Head Coach Todd Graham on January 14.

Athletic Director David Matlin and Jones met in person on January 21, to discuss the offer and negotiate a deal. The initial offer was for two years but was expanded to three years during the 30 minutes of discussion.

The search for the next UH football coach continues and will be announced at a later time.
