University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo’s Sydney Gott and Viviana Poli were vital in their team’s wins this past week, both earning their way to UH Hilo Pepsi Athlete of the Week honors.
Volleyball middle blocker Gott had two outstanding performances in her team’s wins this past week against Biola University and Concordia University Irvine. Both of these wins were crucial in her team’s placement in the PacWest and their journey toward postseason.
Soccer keeper Poli led the Vulcans’ defense on the road. Poli started all four games and played a crucial role in ensuring their four wins. She had three shutouts in the net, accumulating 18 saves. Four of her saves were in high pressure situations where the Vulcans were only up by one goal.
