University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo student-athletes Bria Beale and Keith Ng are this week’s Pepsi Athletes of the Week.
Vulcan outside hitter Beale, who has already won a PacWest Player of the Week award and is a NCAA Woman of the Year finalist, had an outstanding series of volleyball matches to help her team win all four contests of a northern California road trip last week. Beale had a double-double in three of the four wins as UH Hilo improved to 8-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Pacific West Conference.
After winning his second tournament of the year, golfer Ng was named the Pepsi Athlete of the Week for a second time. Ng captured the Western Washington Invitational last week in Blaine, Wash., turning in a birdie on the 17th hole and a par on 18 to win the title by a stroke over Hawaiʻi Pacific University rival Keita Okada.
