University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo volleyball player Alexandria Parisian and men’s golfer Dustin Franko helped lead their teams to dominating tournament victories this past weekend, earning each a Pepsi award.
Parisian was a big factor in UH Hilo sweeping its island rivals twice to improve to 7-1 on the season. Parisian totaled 39 kills in four matches with 10 service aces, eight block assists and 40 digs. She had 10 kills and hit .444 in a 3-0 win over Hawaiʻi Pacific University (HPU) and had 14 kills and 13 digs in a win over Chaminade.
Franko continued his solid season with a second-place finish at last weekend’s Hawaiʻi Challenge at the Waikōloa Beach Course. The sophomore finished at even par over two rounds 69-71 (par 70), to help his team win the challenge, topping HPU by nine strokes and Chaminade by more.
