The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa men’s volleyball team ascended to the top spot in this week’s AVCA Coaches Top 15 poll, leapfrogging previous No. 1 BYU, who dropped to No. 2 this week.
The Rainbow Warriors (4-0) received 15 of the 16 first place votes and 239 total points. BYU received the other first place vote and is No. 2 followed by No. 3 Pepperdine, No. 4 UC Santa Barbara and No. 5 Lewis.
UH also holds the No. 1 ranking in the Off the Block Media Poll. The Warriors either held the top spot outright or shared it for the past three weeks.
UH successfully opened its season by winning all four matches on the road last week, comprising consecutive two-match series sweeps of UC Irvine and UC San Diego.
