Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Willed Body Program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine will temporarily stop accepting donors from Monday, September 14, until further notice.
Donors who have already signed contracts with the program are being notified to look for alternative arrangements at this time. If a donor dies during this temporary closure, loved ones or other appropriate individual(s) are kindly asked to notify the program.
Through the Willed Body Program, first-year medical students are introduced to their silent teachers in anatomy classes. The first thing they learn is how the body is to be treated with respect and to appreciate the opportunity the donor provides.
For questions or more information, call the Willed Body Program at (808) 692-1445 or email wbdonor@hawaii.edu.
