Shaun Kekai Mahiko, second from right, and members of the baseball team

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo salutes a Vulcan baseball player and men’s golfer as the Pepsi Seniors for the last week of June.

Shaun Kekai Mahiko spent five years in the Vulcan baseball program, joining UH Hilo in fall 2015. Mahiko pitched in 25 games and walked two batters in 11 innings as a junior in 2019. Mahiko graduated this spring with a degree in agriculture/aquaculture. Of the six seniors on the Vulcan roster, Mahiko is the only player not coming back for another senior season in 2021.

Warren Miller joined UH Hilo in spring 2018. His scoring average was just over 76 as a sophomore and junior, and he clipped that to 73.78 this year. Miller opened the season with a career-best 66 at the St. Martin’s Invitational, which is tied for the second lowest round in Vulcan history. Miller graduated this spring with a degree in communications.

Congratulations to Mahiko and Miller!
