Two outstanding University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s soccer players have been recognized as the Pepsi Seniors for the week of May 24–30.

Vulcan defender Brandon Baca was a part of the Vulcans soccer program for four seasons. Baca is one of six seniors who graduated “virtually” last weekend. At this spring’s men’s soccer Zoom banquet, Baca was presented with the program’s Vulcan Award, given to the player that is a great teammate and exemplifies the highest level of character. Baca graduated with a degree in marine science.

Goalkeeper Selvin Sandoval came to the Vulcan men’s soccer program in 2018 after redshirting for one season at American International College. He played in four matches as a junior, including a starting role against regional power Point Loma, recording 10 saves in the match. Sandoval graduated from UH Hilo with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science and plans to attend Cal State University Dominguez Hills to pursue a teaching certificate.

Congrats to Baca and Sandoval!
