Three rounds down, five to go! Calling all Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine fans! Out of 256, your University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa character made it into the top 32 of the 2020 Tokyodachi Mascot Mania tournament.

Thanks to YOU, UH Mānoa took down Pac-12 powerhouse UCLA 6,706 to 6,394 in a match with the most votes ever! In round 2, UH Mānoa beat another power five conference school and ACC member Syracuse, and won its opening round matchup over Radford University.

UH Mānoa’s round 4 matchup is against yet another ACC school in Pittsburgh on May 14. To vote, log on to Tokyodachi’s Instagram and click on its profile photo. This will open Tokyodachi’s Instagram stories where you can select one of two options on a poll at the bottom of each post. To skip through the Instagram stories, tap either side of the post. The polls are open for 24 hours once posted, and results will be shared daily.

UH Mānoa’s character was designed by Zephyr and the winning campus will earn its own custom Tokyodachi merchandise line.

Scouting Report

If UH Mānoa takes down Pittsburgh, its Sweet 16 matchup will be against the winner of the University of Washington and Gonzaga. And if UH Mānoa keeps advancing, potential matchups include the University of Oregon, Fresno State and USC.

This light-hearted tournament is an opportunity to showcase the UH Mānoa character and remain engaged on social media with fellow ʻBows.

However, keep in mind, this is a single elimination “one-and-done” style contest with no second chances. So, keep your support coming and Go ʻBows!
