UH Mānoa dance program shares love and support during COVID-19.

To heal, support and inspire the community during COVID-19, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa dance program in the Department of Theatre and Dance is sharing creative dances from its students, faculty, alumni and friends.

A call out was made in April 2020 to submit a 1-minute dance video addressing one of several themes including:

  • In a doorway
  • With a family member
  • Honors the people you love
  • Courage, perseverance or healing
  • In support of healthcare workers

The project named “CONNECTIONS: Uplifting Dances at a Gathering Online” has received about 30 submissions. The program will share one original dance video each day in May 2020 on its Facebook page.
