Seven University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa track and field female student-athletes earned academic awards from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, following the indoor track season.
The Rainbow Wahine recipients were graduate student Tristan Setzer; seniors Natasha Currence, Megan Fereira and Teuila Gardner; juniors Olivia Hill and Kristen LaCosse; and sophomore Jada Pierce.
A total of 264 female student-athletes earned the award from 22 different institutions. The student-athletes met the following criteria for nomination:
- 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average
- Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically
- Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received
- Student-athlete must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution’s competition in the student-athlete’s respective sport
