This message was shared with the faculty, and staff of the 10-campus University of Hawaiʻi system on March 24, 2020.

Aloha UH Employees,

Thank you for your patience during this period of constant change and uncertainty.

Last week, UH authorized employees to work from home upon approval of a Work from Home Request and Agreement form (“Request”). All supervisors were encouraged to expeditiously approve the Request, with a more detailed work plan to be formalized within 5 working days. These Requests shall continue to be managed and maintained by your unit.

The Online Leave System has been updated with a “COVID-19 – Work From Home” leave type to allow the university to capture the dates that all employees have been authorized to work from home for reporting purposes.

Please note that the submission of this leave type does not replace the requirement that you submit a Request to your supervisor for approval and will not affect any of your existing leave balances.

If your supervisor has approved your Request, please log in to the Online Leave System and submit the dates you have been working from home for any period up until April 30, 2020, using the “COVID-19 – Work From Home” leave type.

If working from home is necessary beyond April 30, 2020, the Leave System will be updated as appropriate when a determination has been made.

If you have any questions, please contact your HR representative.

Please remember to take care of yourselves and your family during this time. For COVID-19 FAQs and resources, including tips and tricks on navigating through the Online Leave System, please visit the Office of Human Resources website.

Mahalo,
University of Hawaiʻi
