For the second consecutive year, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa swim and dive team picked up Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championships for both the men’s and women’s teams on February 22, the final day of action.

The championship for the women marks the program’s fourth consecutive title dating back to 2017, while the men’s team earned back-to-back titles. This year, the women finished with a 20-point lead and final score of 726, while the men carried an 80-point lead and finished with 895.50 points.

The 2020 MPSF championships featured several events, including the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free, 400 free relay, the men’s platform dive and the women’s platform dive.

On the final day, the ‘Bows captured nine MPSF championships. In all, UH Mānoa collected 22 championships, including 17 in singles competition and five in relays.

“From the start of the season, we knew it would take each student-athlete’s best effort to win this championship, and that’s what we got,” said Head Coach Elliot Ptasnik. “Thank you to our Athletic Department, advisors, trainers, coaches, alumni, fans, friends and family for your endless support. We wouldn’t be here without you.”
