University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa faculty, students and staff shared their cutting-edge research and love of science with students kindergarten through high school and the community at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) Open House on the Mānoa campus October 25 and 26.

The 15th biennial event attracted more than 6,000 participants who explored nearly 80 exhibits, many of which included hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, videos, laboratory tours, state-of-the art computer animation and high-tech equipment displays.

In addition to UH Mānoa faculty, staff, and students, organizations such as the Waikīkī Aquarium, Schmidt Ocean Institute, State of Hawaiʻi Division of Aquatic Resources, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration participated in the event that was free and open to the public.
