Two University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo athletes that played a large role in Vulcan victories this past week earn Pepsi Athlete honors.

Junior goalkeeper Michael Harre anchored a Vulcan defense during a 1-0 men’s soccer win at home versus Notre Dame de Namur on October 9. Harre had nine saves as the last stop behind a UH Hilo defense that proved difficult to get past. Harre faced 11 Argonaut shots. This was the first shutout of his Vulcan career. It helped UH Hilo improve to 1-1 in the PacWest.

Junior outside hitter Bria Beale helped the Vulcans win a pair of outstanding matches at home against Concordia and Biola. Beale led her team in kills both nights. She had 18 kills and hit .389 against Biola, adding three aces and 13 digs. She had six kills in the second set. Against Concordia, she had 14 kills in just three sets. She hit .324 and had 17 digs. Beale leads the conference with 3.73 kills per set and 4.26 points per game.
