Cross country standout Olivia Jarvis and volleyball setter Kendall Kott are the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Pepsi Athletes of the Week for the first seven days of October.

Sophomore runner Jarvis, ran her best race of the season at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational on Saturday. Running the same course on Oʻahu‘s North Shore that she did in the season opener at the Big Wave Invitational, Jarvis crossed the line in 20:29 over the five kilometer course, only behind an HPU runner and two from Division I University of Hawaiʻi.

Freshman setter Kott helped direct the Vulcans to five consecutive wins in northern California. Kott had a conference-best 176 assists on the week and had a collegiate high of 19 digs against the Argonauts. Earlier in the week, Kott had four service aces in a three-set win over Dominican. On the year, Kott leads the PacWest with 10.75 assists per set.
