The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa starts the fall semester off with a welcome event featuring great food, live music, prizes, giveaways and more at the 3rd annual Welina Mānoa: And the Adventure Begins. The free event is held on Monday, August 26, 3:30–6 p.m.
“Come join us for an amazing event to kick off the academic year! We know you will learn more about the variety of programs, services and clubs offered at UH Mānoa,” said Lori Ideta, interim vice chancellor for students. “We are so excited to welcome all of our new and returning students to campus as we celebrate the new school year together!”
Welina Mānoa, which means welcome to Mānoa, features KTUH’s DJ Mermaid, UH Mānoa pep band and cheerleaders and various activities. Students can win a flat-screen HD TV, Beats headphones, Oakley sunglasses, gift cards from Amazon, Mānoa Dining Services, Subway and more.
Held throughout Campus Center, Kuykendall Lawn and Legacy Pathway, the event will also feature a one-stop-shop resource fair highlighting more than 115 student groups, student services, academic departments, community partners and businesses.
