A University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa faculty member has been appointed to the board of directors of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Robin Arndt, who joined the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work in 2013, is the school’s coordinator of field and continuing education.

“We are fortunate to have Robin serve as the Region XII representative,” said Dean Noreen Mokuau. “He will be a strong advocate for the needs of social workers and will represent the school, university and profession well.”

NASW is the world’s largest professional organization of social workers. Arndt will represent social workers in Hawaiʻi, Alaska, Colorado, Guam, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Arndt previously served as president of the NASW Hawaiʻi chapter. In June, he was reappointed to the Commission on Membership and Professional Development with the Council on Social Work Education.
