Northwestern Mutual Hawaiʻi has committed $50,000 to establish an endowed scholarship to support full-time undergraduate students at the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Shidler College of Business through this endowed scholarship. Our firm’s mission is to remove the barriers to financial independence, elevating the trajectory of people’s lives,” said Jamie Delgadillo, managing director of Northwestern Mutual Hawaiʻi. “Helping to make education in Hawaiʻi more affordable fits our mission. We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this!”

“We are very grateful to Northwestern Mutual Hawaiʻi for supporting our students,” said Vance Roley, dean of the Shidler College of Business. “Since 2011, Northwestern Mutual has funded the Special Student in Financial Planning award at Business Night and continues to support our internship and career placement program to make sure our students are prepared for the workforce.”

Northwestern Mutual Hawaiʻi helps people achieve their goals by providing comprehensive financial planning and a broad range of financial products and services including insurance, investments and employee benefit services. The Hawaiʻi firm is part of a nationwide network of more than 330 Northwestern Mutual offices and was named one of Hawaii Business magazine’s “Best Places to Work in Hawaiʻi” in 2019.
