The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Athletics Department announced its 37th class of the UH Sports Circle of Honor which includes national champion diver Emma Friesen, basketball great Bob Nash, former Athletics Director Hugh Yoshida and longtime booster Carolyn Berry Wilson.

The Class of 2019 will be officially enshrined during Homecoming weekend—at the September 21 football game versus Central Arkansas and at the 3rd Annual Green & White Celebration, September 22 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Friesen is the second diver; Nash is the 13th basketball player; and Yoshida is the ninth athletics director to be inducted. Berry enters the Circle in the “Contributor” category.

The Circle of Honor started in 1982 to recognize individuals and teams who have contributed to the growth, history and tradition of UH Mānoa Athletics. The total number of inductees in the Circle of Honor is 123 individuals and 12 teams, including this year’s honorees. Plaques honoring the individuals and teams are anchored on the inner walls surrounding the main concourse of the Stan Sheriff Center.
