From grateful alumni, proud parents, sterling University of Hawaiʻi faculty and staff, employers building an expertise pipeline and supporters with big ideas and passion for finding solutions and changing lives, donors are empowering the University of Hawaiʻi to provide the high-quality education our students deserve, while conducting the superb and relevant scholarship our communities require.
In fiscal year 2018, 20,936 donors collectively made 25,946 gifts through the UH Foundation, resulting in $180.3 million raised to benefit UH programs and students. Of that total, $46.2 million was raised through outright gifts and pledges. This is significant for UH and represents solid support that will directly benefit students, research and programs in the near future. These gifts, coupled with the extraordinary total planned gifts (deferred and conditional commitments and bequest intentions), will bring transformational benefits to UH.
In the UH Foundation Annual Report 2018, UH President David Lassner wrote, “Thank you for your continued support as we navigate change and embrace new opportunities, for our university, our Hawaiʻi, our future. Mahalo for all you do to build a better world.”
