Basketball seniors Patience Taylor and Larry Bush are the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Pepsi Athletes of the Week for their roles in upset victories over the weekend.

Taylor had a pair of strong performances this past weekend against Azusa Pacific and Biola. Against the first-place Cougars, Taylor racked up 13 points and six rebounds and added 12 points in a big win over Biola, 77-65. Against the Eagles, she had six of her points in the third quarter to counter a comeback attempt by the visitors. As a fourth-year player, Taylor has averaged more than 10 points a game in her last six starts.

Larry Bush

For the second week in a row, Bush has earned the Pepsi Athlete of the Week award. He had 22 points and seven rebounds in a two-point loss to Biola 79-77, and led the Vulcans in scoring during a 64-60 upset over Azusa Pacific. Against the Eagles, Bush nailed 5 of 11 three-point attempts and also had a pair of steals. Against the Cougars, he hit 6 of 8 shots and had a steal and free throw with 13 seconds left.
