University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa students can determine their eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, more commonly known as food stamps, by visiting staffed tables on the second floor of Campus Center near Simply Fresh from August through November.

Thanks to the support program Student Parents at Mānoa (SP@M), outreach and enrollment information will be dispensed from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays and Wednesdays: August 28 and 29, September 18 and 19, October 30 and 31, and November 27 and 28. Look for the SP@M flag.

SNAP provides monthly food stipends to UH Mānoa students who are part of a federal work-study program or who meet work and income requirements.

During the table times at Campus Center, a SNAP specialist from partner organization Helping Hands Hawaiʻi will help determine eligibility and can offer assistance in filling out an application.

Students unable to attend the SNAP outreach events can email gotkids@hawaii.edu to request an appointment with a SP@M staff member.

SP@M provides resources and support to students who have children as they pursue their higher education. The program, under the Office of Student Affairs, seeks to increase the visibility of and resources for student parents, while advocating for a more family-friendly UH Mānoa.
