In the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2017, more than 29,000 donors gave more than $77,650,000 to the University of Hawaiʻi via the UH Foundation. Donors included alumni, community members, private foundations and corporations.
Donna Vuchinich, UH Foundation president and CEO said, “Every day we have the privilege of hearing from students and faculty who share how private support is making a difference in their lives. From funding globally recognized research in critical areas that affect us all including cancer and our environment, to making a quality college education possible, donors are making a difference. Many of our donors are former and current faculty and staff. We are most grateful to each and every donor for their vision and generosity. Mahalo!”
Vuchinich continued, “It is impossible to quantify the impact donors make on our state, or to tell every story in which they play a part, so our annual report offers a representative sample of how their gifts impact UH campuses statewide. Thanks to our partners at UH, and donors’ ambitious philanthropy, UH is driving Hawaiʻi’s social, cultural and economic well-being; advancing sustainability at home and around the world; and seeding the discoveries that will shape tomorrow.”
