University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa undergraduate students from all fields of study will present their faculty-supervised research project or creative work at the Undergraduate Showcase on May 5.
This free event will feature 76 presentations and posters by 105 undergraduate students in the disciplines of arts and humanities, engineering and computer sciences, natural sciences and social sciences.
The morning begins at Sakamaki Hall, with the first oral session at 9:15 a.m. The event venue will shift to the Campus Center Ballroom, with complimentary lunch at 12:30 p.m. and end with the poster session at 1:30 p.m.
This year’s presentations include:
- “Masters of la Mode: Representations of Women in the French Fashion Press, 1785-99”
- “Effects of Varietal Diversity on Knowledge of Kava (Piper methysticum) in the Pacific”
- “Design and Fabrication of an OSLS Electric All-Terrain Vehicle”
- “What I Chose: Enhancing Suicide Prevention through Young Adult Fiction”
- “Identifying Perceived Barriers and Enablers of Healthy Eating in College Students in Hawaiʻi”
The Undergraduate Showcase, sponsored by the UH Mānoa Office of Undergraduate Education, highlights the outstanding research and creative work produced by talented undergraduate students across campus at the end of each fall and spring semester.
