When bae has a chem lab and she forgot her shoes, lol - tweet with pictures of him wearing her sandals
Mark Cadiz’s tweet.

University of Hawaiʻi Maui College student Mark Cadiz’s helpful hand, or more specifically helpful shoe swap, went viral, and the internet is delighted.

During a stressful midterms week, Cadiz’s girlfriend Vanessa realized she had forgotten closed-toed shoes, which are a requirement for her chemistry lab. Cadiz offered to lend her his sneakers for her class and wore her open-toed sandals for his. He tweeted about his footwear fashion for the day and the image went viral.

Cadiz’ shoe swap has been retweeted more than 35,000 times and has more than 160,000 likes. News outlets such as Huffington Post, Teen Vogue and Buzzfeed covered the kind gesture and shared more tweets applauding the “best boyfriend ever!” and “relationship goals.”

Some commenters focused on the size of the couples’ feet, to the point where Cadiz and Vanessa humorously addressed it in their respective twitter accounts. “I have small feet and I’m proud,” Mark said to Buzzfeed. But the most important point was Vanessa was able to attend class safely.

The two are enjoying their relationship and their internet fame.

“Mark keeps telling everyone, ‘You’re speaking to a celebrity,’” Vanessa said in the same article. “So he’s enjoying his 15 minutes of fame.”
