The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s journalism 401 class has completed two half-hour television news shows that will air on KFVE on Saturday, December 12, noon and Sunday, December 20, 10:30 a.m.
The UHMTV shows feature stories about mental health, the environment, culture and UH Mānoa sports and programs. The December 12 show features an in-depth interview with U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka and the December 20 show includes a lengthy interview with PBS Hawaiʻi CEO Leslie Wilcox.
In addition to the reporting, the students were responsible for all of the video editing and graphics needed to put the shows together. They also created the new “look” and the show’s name—UHMTV.
