Richard H. Cox

Richard H. Cox, a former Alexander and Baldwin vice president and chair and commissioner of the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources Commission on Water Resource Management, has made a $40,000 gift to fund an endowment at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

“The endowment will support the UH Mānoa College of Engineering’s civil and environmental engineering program,” he explained. “It will provide equipment and materials for research, and upon graduation, students will enter the engineering profession in government and the private sector well-educated and ready for success.”

“The college is extremely grateful for this general gift,” said College of Engineering Dean Peter Crouch. “It will assist the civil and environmental engineering department in its efforts to build its capacity to provide innovative education programs that prepare students for challenges they will face in their future careers.”
