The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges sent Honolulu Community College a letter dated February 7, 2014 stating that the commission removed the warning status and reaffirmed accreditation for the college.

“We are extremely happy about the commission’s decision to remove us off of warning. The entire college community was involved in addressing the accreditation recommendations. We have made great progress and will continue those efforts around continuous improvement and improving student success around degree and certificate attainment,” shares Erika L. Lacro, chancellor of Honolulu Community College.

The college is required to submit another follow-up report by October 15, 2014. Reaffirmation with a follow-up report is granted when an institution is found to substantially meet or exceeded the eligibility requirement, accreditation standards, and commission policies.

A copy of the ACCJC letter can be found on the Honolulu CC website.
