Palikū Theatre at Windward Community College presents the fairy-tale children’s musical Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale, February 9–17, 2013. The show, directed by Ron Bright, is composed by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, the creators of last year’s musical hit at Palikū, How I Became a Pirate. The Palikū Theatre production is only the third to have ever been done of this story.
Join long-haired Rapunzel and a magical cast of characters including an evil enchantress, a witty spell-bound dragon, a handsome suitor on a quest to find his purpose in life, and the kingdom’s hairdresser searching for the perfect head of hair! This twist on the classic fairy tale is sure to delight princes and princesses of all ages.
The cast includes Jessica Cruz as Rapunzel, Leonard Villanueva as Socrates the Dragon, Wesley Lambert as Sir Roderick, Kiefer Harrington as Edgar the Hairdresser, Zenia Zambrano Moura as the wicked aunt Lady Zazalinsky, Callie Doan as the Gypsy Woman, Zack Gravitt as the King and Michelle Blake as the Queen.
Showtimes and tickets
There will be six, one-hour performances starting Saturday, February 9, running just 2 weekends, through Sunday, February 17. Performances will be Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
