Michael Duckworth, publisher of Hong Kong University Press, and W. Clark Whitehorn, editor-in-chief of the University of New Mexico Press, have been named as finalists for the position of director and publisher of the University of Hawaiʻi Press at UH Mānoa.
Duckworth and Whitehorn are scheduled to participate in campus visits that cover UH Press department discussions; meetings with senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, and members of their respective professions; and a public presentation.
Campus and community members, as well as the general public, are encouraged to attend.

First new UH Press director in 25 years
UH Press, which was founded in 1947, is currently led by Director William Hamilton, who will be retiring from the position. Since its founding, UH Press has grown from a largely regional press to one of the most respected publishers of Asian and Pacific studies titles in the world.
Currently, UH Press publishes 60–70 new books and publishes and distributes 20 journals annually in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. It has more than 1,300 book titles in print, with sales in excess of $3 million annually.
