During Fall 2015, the John Young Museum of Art held a workshop entitled:“Archival Practice and Museum Collection: Processing Artwork on Paper,” led by: Charise Michelsen, Processing Archivist, Daniel Inouye Papers, UHM.
In total we hosted twenty-one students from various fields including Art, Art History, Museum Studies, Anthropology, and Library Science. Here are some of the student comments:
“This hands-on experience is priceless. It really helps to actually learn how to handle the material and how it is housed.”
“Extremely hands-on experience that often is not accessible by those at the student level.”
“As a print-maker, it is great to know how to store prints as well as to remedy and damage.”
