As part of the University of Hawaiʻi's Information Security Program, all servers and networked devices (which includes firewalls, routers, managed switches, VPN gateways, etc.) operating on the UH network must be registered in the Annual UH Device Registration (previously known as "Server Registration"). Endpoints that are storing Sensitive or Regulated data must also be registered.
To register your device, please click on "Registration Console" located in the top navigation bar of this page. You will need to login with your UH Username and password to continue with registration.
Endpoints
Due to the elevated risk of Endpoints storing UH Regulated data, the UH Minimum Security Standards must be implemented. Visit https://www.hawaii.edu/infosec/minimum-standards/ for more information.
You will need to enter the following information for each endpoint:
Campus - Operating System and Version
- Device Type
- Device Administrator's Contact Information
- Type of information stored on the endpoint
Servers and Networked Devices
Servers are inherently used to store information. Networked devices which include firewalls, routers, VPN gateways, etc. are entry points into an environment. These devices must be secured following the UH Minimum Security Standards and are required to be scanned & remediated for vulnerabilities on a regular basis (at a minimum, annually). Visit https://www.hawaii.edu/infosec/minimum-standards/ for more information.
Servers should also be scanned for Sensitive and/or Regulated data on an annual basis since UH Regulated data, and other personal information may inadvertently be placed on these servers at any time.
If UH Regulated data is found on a server (as defined by UH Executive Policy E2.214), monthly vulnerability scans are required and you must also complete a Personal Information Survey for your repository as required by Hawai‘i State law HRS 487N. Please visit the following link for more information: https://www.hawaii.edu/its/information/survey/.
