What is a Virtual Private Network (VPN)?
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) enables information to travel securely via encryption from one network to another. VPNs are generally used when a person wants to use a computer from a remote site (such as their home) to access enterprise systems, such as Banner. The UH VPN allows users to become part of the secured UH network from anywhere.
When do I need to access a VPN?
Users working from home or any other location (traveling) where they are not on the UH network, will need to first connect to the UH VPN (to get on the UH network) before logging on to Banner.
How do I set up connectivity to the UH VPN?
For more information on VPN and setup instructions, please proceed to the UH ITS VPN information page.
