Schedule:
DAY 1
Behavior discussion. What is behavior? Why do we study it? How do we study it?
DAY 2
Scientific Ethics—Caring for lab animals. Students view UH animal care protocol and fill out their own mini-protocols.
DAY 3
Observations on classroom tanks. Look for aggression in guppies.
DAY 4
Discussion on how to measure behavior and reduce error.
DAY 5
Data Sheet Design and Test: Class selects standard design.

DAY 6
Students choose variables to test.
DAY 7
Students work on setup of tests.
 
DAY 8
Students finish setup and begin tests.

DAY 9
Continue tests.
DAY 10
Field Trip to Makapu’u tidepools at low tide.
DAY 11
Complete tests.
DAY 12
Groups compile and graph individual results.
DAY 13
Compile class graph. Discuss results.
